~Chapter 50: Benders and Confession*POV: Raya~

It's been two weeks since I've woken up, and so far it's been boring. Well…not entirely. Tommy and Timmy come over and visit when they come back from school. I help them with their homework and in return they play video games with me. Sandy and my dad come and visit as well.

They said that my accident opened their eyes and that they decided to give their marriage one more go. I smiled at their decision and gave them both the biggest and tightest hug they have ever gotten in their life.

I'm able to move now, but the doctor still recommends I not do things like running or jumping. Also that I should take it easy. I ignored her. Every night when the nurses left me alone, I would secretly heal myself. One of the many tricks I learned from Ren and Korra. My skin is no longer purple and I was as fit as a fiddle.

One day, I was practicing my waterbending during the day. I figured it was fine since the curtain was closed and I was alone. I didn't hear the door open nor did I see his shadow through the curtain. Bryan Cole pulled back the curtain and saw me with a stream of water floating in between my palms.

I looked at him then looked at the stream of water. I was prepared to lie to him, but he just closed the curtain and sat down in the chair next to me. He made a gesture like he was saying hand-over-the-water.

I gave him a confused look, but I brought over the water to his open palm. I looked at him worriedly when he wanted me to let go of the water. He nodded in reassurance and I slowly brought my hands away from the small stream.

I watched in amazement when he started to bend the water. He froze it, and then unfroze it. He bended it back into the paper cup and looked at me with a grin on his face. I gaped at what I just saw. Bryan Cole, the most popular guy in my school, just waterbended in front of my eyes.

"How?" I asked.

"I've always been able to do that." He answered.

"Are there others like us?" I questioned.

"Yeah, benders are everywhere. You just have to pay attention and watch." He smiled.

I looked at him confused. Why was he visiting me? He was popular, and he probably had better things to do than visit his old acquaintance from kindergarten.

"Why are you here?" I looked him straight in his clear blue eyes. "I, mean, we're not really friends and we don't hang out or anything like that."

Bryan was silent for a moment. He scratched the back of his head nervously and bit his lower lip. He looked up at me and looked down at the ground. He ran a hand through his dark blond hair. He let out a sigh and looked up at me through shy eyes.

"Raya, I know we've never really hung out or anything like that, but we've been in the same classes since kindergarten and we've go to the same school and clubs. Even though we've never talked to each other before up until a month ago, I've always liked you." Bryan slid his hand under mine's and held it in his. "When I found out you were in an accident and a coma, I regretted not telling you about my feelings sooner."

"Bryan, you have Sparkle and what is so special about me anyway?" I asked. I like Bryan but only as a friend. My heart was forever tied to Kaiden. I looked down at my left hand to make sure the ring was still there. I smiled when I saw it still there.

"Raya, the day of your accident I found out Sparkle was bullying you. I was hesitant about breaking up with her because of the pressure from my friends. But her getting you involve in our problems was the last straw." He looked up at me. "I told her we were over. I've liked you since we were kids. I like how you were always happy and cared about others. But as we got older it looked like you were hurting and that girl disappeared. I wanted to be the person to bring her back and be the one to erase your hurting."

"Bryan, I don't know what to say." I pulled my hand away gently and looked down at my hand.

"You don't have to say anything. Just give me a chance to be your friend and we'll go on from there." He extended his hand.

"Alright." I shake his hand.

He leaves soon after that. I looked around the room for my bag. I found it lying on ground next to the bed. I picked it up and dug around for my phone. I found it and pulled it out. I went to my photo gallery and scrolled down. I found the pictures I was looking for.

They were pictures I took of Republic City and Air Temple Island. I smiled sadly at the pictures of me and Kaiden sitting in the meditation pavilion. I missed him and my friends. I lied back down and fell asleep holding my phone to my chest.
A little drama but that's all.
